Located in Santa Rosa, California, was chartered on April 7, 2008. It was established through the efforts of Jay Matthews, Post Commander, and several other veterans who felt the desire to address the needs of veterans from all eras of service since September 1940 (including Peace-time periods) who have served honorably.
Post 40 endorses and actively pursues the purposes set forth by AMVETS National and AMVETS Department of California. We are veterans serving veterans and community. We are Dedicated to helping veterans and their family members find the benefits they have earned by their service.
We also strive to bring awareness to the community of the sacrifices these veterans have made to preserve the rights and privileges we enjoy. We do this by marching in parades, visiting schools, participating in Color Guards and Honor Guards, and through other patriotic community events.
